WORK EXPERIENCE

August-Sept, 2011      Agriculture and Livestock Enterprise Enhancement Fund (ALEEF) Impact                                                Assessment. This entailed development of the concept, TOR, and tools for                                           the study of the impact of the revolving funds given to 17 selected districts in                               Kenya under National Agriculture and Livestock Extension Program (Rural                                             Finance). Data analysis by use of SPSS, report compilation and presentation                                         of the findings in a national workshop.

 

Sept 2010-Date           Part-time Lecturer, Kisii University College: Teaching agribusiness                                      management courses in the Faculty of Agric and Natural Resource                                                            Management

Sept 2010-Date           Lake Victoria Environmental Management Program II     collaborating                                        with the National project coordinating office in development of monitoring                                           and evaluation guidelines and plans and conducted baseline surveys for                                           benchmarking project indicators

Jan-Feb 2010              Project Evaluation Consultant for ADRA (K) OVC Food Security Project in                                              Nyamira. The assignment involved development of evaluation tools, training                                                of enumerators, data collection supervision, data entry and analysis, report                                             writing and dissemination at a workshop.   

Apr-Dec 2009:                        Consultant Agricultural Economist for Kimira-Oluch Smallholder Farm                                             Improvement Project Homa-bay District (ADB funded Project). The                                               assignment entailed preparation of Abbreviated Involuntary Resettlement                                        Plan for the adversely project affected persons.  Valuation of farm assets for                                      compensation, household livelihood assessments, and evaluation of optional                                               enterprises recommended for the adversely affected households.

2003-2004:                   Agricultural Economist for the National Cotton Sector Feasibility Study,       Kenya (EU). Facilitated GFA consultants during the field surveys,             field/household  interviews for cotton farmers, data analysis on economic   competitiveness of cotton at household level, compiled feasibility study       reports and presented study reports to stakeholders during a national             workshop.
